Immersed in a world of imagination and heartwarming tales, Devyani Mungali’s Anokha Pitara truly captivated audiences at the Pune International Literary Festival (PILF) 2023. She brought her stories to life with the launch of her third book in the series of ‘Albeli and Raghu’ and mesmerized the audience with excerpts from her new book ‘Enchanting Sundarbans’.
On March 4th, Devyani Mungali took two back-to-back exciting sessions on Hindi poetry and English storytelling for the children of Podar ORT International School in Worli, Mumbai. The children loved singing the poem and doing actions alongside. In the story-telling session, the kids had a great time listening to the stories of Albeli and Raghu in the Jim Corbett National Park. Both the sessions ended with interesting activities for the children.
Devyani Mungali’s Anokha Pitara was a part of the LitBug Fest 2024 held on April 20, 2024 at Yashada, Baner (Pune). The bi-lingual book (Hindi and English) – Shhh! Suno! Saadiyaan bhi bolti hain! was unveiled at this event, along with a fun interactive quiz for the children and adults. The Anokha Pitara stall at the festival also garnered an excellent response. While children loved going through the books at the stall, adults and children enjoyed block printing, painting and drawing traditional motifs on saree borders drawn on pages.
Devyani Mungali’s Anokha Pitara was a part of the Enlit Awards 2024 held on April 21, 2024. Devyani Mungali was one of the esteemed jury members who judged the many applications for the Enlit Awards 2024. Anokha Pitara unveiled the 4th book in the Albeli and Raghu series – Exploring the Sundarbans at this event.
At the Bengaluru Poetry Festival 2024, Devyani Mungali read out excerpts from her collection of Hindi poems, leaving the audience enthralled. The little ones enjoyed and participated wholeheartedly.
Narrating the enchanting stories of Sundarbans through the eyes of a young boy Rahul, Devyani Mungali regaled the audiences at India’s biggest Children’s Fest ‘Kukdukoo Pune’ held on October 19th and 20th, 2024. Where Literature, Art, Theatre and Culture meet, Anokha Pitara’s book on the ‘Enchanting Sundarbans’ gave the audience a glimpse of ‘Bonbibi – protector of Sundarbans’ and ‘Dakkhin Rai’, her nemesis. This interesting storytelling session with theatre play by the students of the Sanskriti Group of Schools mesmerized the audiences.
Anokha Pitara scored a hat-trick at the Bookaroo Lit Fest in Delhi held from 8th to 10th November, 2024. With three sessions of storytelling: one from the bilingual Saree book, the second of excerpts being read from the Albeli and Raghu series and a special session for the little ones and the parents on fun Hindi poems, Devyani Mungali connected with all age groups and had a great time. The children and audience enjoyed the sessions.
Hosted by the Sanskriti Group of Schools, the Epicurious LitFest is an annual literature festival held exclusively for the students of all the three campuses of the school. Devyani Mungali’s Anokha Pitara has been an active part of every Epicurious LitFest since the last six years. A special feature of the Epicurious LitFest 2024 was the launch of the fifth book of Hindi poems ‘Gudgudati Khilkhilati Kavitayein’ and a new English story book titled ‘Super Talents of Grandparents’.
